Who is this lesson for?

These lessons are for all skill levels, whether you’re new to guitar, a hobbyist wanting to learn faster, or a more experienced player looking to level up your skills. The lessons will help you to practice and learn on the edge of your own personal abilities.

How much music knowledge and guitar experience do I need to take lessons with you?

Even if you are a complete beginner, don’t worry you won’t need to have any experience. The lessons are designed to give you all the knowledge you need.

If you have some experience with guitar and music theory, the lessons will give you stronger foundation to build on. If you’re a more advanced player, you’ll find that the deeper knowledge in technique, improvisation tools, arrangement ideas, creative approaches will help you become a better player.

Are these lessons live? Do I have to log in at a specific time?

All the lessons are live, one-on-one sessions with your guitar teacher. You’ll get some of the benefits of learning in-person, but online lessons can be done from the comfort of your own home and a significantly greater flexibility with make-up lessons. The best of all that you can also record your lessons with a press of a button so you can re-watch the session later as many times as you want to.

To meet with your instructor you have to log in weekly at the time and day we agreed when you signed up for lessons.

What equipment, books or other materials will I need for the online lessons?

Besides your instrument, you’ll can use a computer with camera and speaker, a cell phone, or a tablet with fast and reliable internet access. A paper and pencil is a useful tool if you want to take notes. Most of my students print out charts and exercises. Typically we are not using method books, but depending on the style you study you might need to buy a book or two.

What time commitment is needed to learn guitar?

It depends on your goal in music. To become a professional level player you need to invest several thousands of hours into your studies. But, the vast majority of students have a goal to learn songs and have fun playing music entertaining themselves, or family and friends. You can achieve this in a much shorter time, most of the beginner students will play well their first song after only a few weeks of lessons, and can play several songs after 3-6 months of learning.

Playing guitar does not depends on talent. It only depends on how much time you can spend practicing on your instrument, the more you can invest into it, the more benefits and fun you'll get out of it. Either way, the lessons are designed to immerse you in the learning process, while still fitting into almost anyone’s busy schedule.

Should I take 30 minute or 1 hr long lessons? Can I switch later?

For teens and young students we suggest 30 minute lessons to start with. However if a student prepares for college, the 1 hour long lessons once or even twice a week might be beneficial. Adult students can choose between 30 minute or 1 hour lessons depending on how advanced subjects they are study and how fast they want to learn. For most beginner students 30 minute lessons are fine, but if you take your craft seriously and want to develop quickly, then you can benefit from longer guitar lessons.

The change of the length of your lessons usually is possible, but most of the times the lesson needs to be moved to an other time or other day.

How do the guitar student group works?

We are maintaining a Discord Server for our student community, and anyone who is interested in learning guitar! It is a free of charge service.

This group has a resident teacher online, also advanced students are there to answer your questions, and give advice and support throughout your studies.

We share progress videos and audio recordings of our play on the stage channel, discuss music theory or even guitar building questions, share songs we love and more. You can also talk or even video chat with your fellow students. Do you want a group lesson about blues? Talk with your fellow students and ask the resident teacher on the server to schedule group lesson for you guys. It is that easy. Your student group will help you stay accountable, learn from new perspectives, and make new friends around the world.

What if I’m too busy right now? Can I enroll later?

We know that life is busy. We all have work and family responsibilities. There’s probably never going to be a perfect time. We all crave to be more creative and to do something awesome outside of our normal day-to-day routines, and here is your chance to do something for yourself! We want you to immerse yourself in the creative process in a way you probably never thought possible. Life is too short to delay your dreams again and again.

Yes, even if you have a full-time job, or are a full-time student, or have family obligations, if you commit to yourself and to your music, we think you’ll be surprised by just how much you can learn in a few months.
